Born in Georgetown, British Guiana in the 1930s.

Moved to the UK in 1965 to train as a nurse on a British Guiana CUKC passport [‘Without limit of time’].

Returned to the newly independent Guyana following the death of her husband and was unable to get work.

She returned to the UK in 1968 only to be told by Immigration Officials she could not enter.  She was told her passport was ‘no longer valid’ but then given a ‘twelve month stay’ perhaps because on her person was her nursing badge of state registration.

She later registered as British.  Dual citizenship was not given as an option.
